I'm not sure how many time I've read this book, each time a moment away from the world. I suppose some of the premises requires you to accept wholeheartedly these innocent nuns up to the extreme of their naivity. This time I was actually trying to gauge when the story supposed to happen, in the 80s? The cloister was established around 1962 or 1963 perhaps. Both nuns should be there for quite a long time to have that otherworldly marked on them. But sister Hyacinthe is only 36years old, not so much older than me. Perhaps it didn't really make sense, but anyway. It's Gilman book. Innocent women fight against the big bad world and hit a big punch on it. Do not underestimate innocence! Yeah.
