Lord Edgware Dies - Agatha Christie Agatha Christie made me cocky in thinking that I've solved the mistery right at the beginning of the book, and then as I prepared myself to get bored I found out that I was wrong, that I haven't solved it. Even further along the book I began to give up trying to solve it and simply read it. Second to last chapter buoyed me into thinking that at least I'm not fooled by some of the details as Captain Hastings was, to realize that it has no bearing whatsoever to the case. Then Poirot showed how foolish I was trying to compete with him. Thank god I don't work as a detective...
