This book needs certain mood to read, but definitely worth it each time I pick it up at the right moment. His story telling and humour made me persevere in reading this long story. Most of all I love how succeed in showing Moslem, Greek Orthodox, and Catholic as what they really are, human. Living in a country with multi-cultures and religions I saw their relationship with a bit of jealousy and amusement. Amusement since how they mixed up their religion practices was a point that was hammered in our head since elementary school as a big no-no. Jealousy because what they have was tolerancy with a giant T and the way they felt as citizen of Ottoman was unity such as we always dream of.
